Forstmayr elected new CHTA President
The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) has named Josef Forstmayr President-elect for 2010-2012. Forstmayr is a director on the Jamaica Tourist Board and Managing Director at Round Hill Hotel & Villas in Jamaica, which won “World’s Leading Villa” at the 2008 World Travel Awards (pictured left).Before entering his two-year term, he will go through a one-year initiation as President-elect in preparation for his role as CHTA President.
CHTA Meets With Chain Hotels Forum
The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) met with several senior executives from chain hotels with properties in the Caribbean region to reconstitute the previously successful Chain Hotels Forum, originally created 15 years ago, and agreed to further discussion on the creation of a “Communications Campaign” to educate and impress upon the people and the governments of the region the importance of tourism to the local economies throughout the Caribbean.
