The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) has appointed Allen Chastanet as its regional vice president.

Chastanet, who left his post as tourism minister for St Lucia in November, will support the association’s advocacy programs and will be responsible for St Lucia and its neighbouring islands.

Chastanet previously served as vice president of CHTA from 2004-06 and was chairman of the Caribbean Tourism Organization for a two-year term.

Next month will see leaders of the Caribbean travel and tourism industry descend upon the Bahamas for the Caribbean Marketplace.
