After close a decade of waiting, Berlin Brandenburg Airport could finally be close to opening. With construction beginning in 2006, the airport on the edge of the German capital was set to open in 2011.
The supervisory board of the Berlin Brandenburg airport has set a revised date of October 2020 for its opening. This is some nine years after the original 2011 planned opening and follows years of mounting delays.
In what is fast becoming a never ending story, officials have confirmed Berlin Brandenburg Airport will not now opening until 2014 at the earliest. The new hub airport for the German capital had been expected to open in 2012, but has been bedevilled by a series of setbacks.
The supervisory board of Berlin Brandenburg Airport GmbH recently discussed the next steps with regard to the completion of the new airport Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt. Horst Amann, the new COO is currently evaluating the planned opening date of 17 March 2013
Boingo Wireless has been chosen as exclusive Wi-Fi provider for the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport Willy Brandt. The Boingo Wi-Fi services will be available as soon as the airport opens on March 17th 2013.
