CyberSource and Amadeus seal fraud management deal
CyberSource, a Visa Inc. company, and one of the world’s leading providers of eCommerce payment management services, has formed a strategic global partnership with Amadeus, a leading technology partner for the global travel industry. The agreement brings an integrated travel reservation and fraud management solution to airlines, travel agencies and other travel organisations worldwide.
Amadeus links with SAP for industry first technology deal
Amadeus has confirmed an industry first strategic technological agreement with SAP, to deliver to the market a cloud-based corporate travel solution, including online booking, expense and mobile capabilities. Amadeus will integrate the SAP Cloud for Travel and Expense solution with Amadeus e-Travel Management, creating an innovative unified user interface and a common workflow with a single end-to-end offering for corporate direct clients and resellers.

FIFA World Cup 2014: Amadeus reveals spike in traveller demand
Flight bookings from Europe to Brazil for travel during the FIFA World Cup period have increased by approximately 60 per cent compared with bookings for the same period in 2013, demonstrating the clear impact of the event on demand for travel. Analysis from Amadeus’ Travel Intelligence division shows the major impact the event is having on demand for travel to Brazil, particularly from northern European countries such as the United Kingdom, France and Germany, which have all seen enormous year-on-year increases in bookings departing from those markets to Brazil.
Amadeus: GCC region set for mobile travel boom
The coming-of-age of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s youthful population will reshape the travel industry in the region over the next fifteen years, as digital natives instinctively turn to mobile technologies and social media to plan, book and manage travel, according to new research from Amadeus. Today, nearly 25 per cent of the GCC population is under 15 years of age, and as this demographic becomes tomorrow’s decision makers, it will shake up traditional behaviours to become increasingly self-directed.

Germanwings signs Amadeus distribution deal
Germanwings and Amadeus today announce a new agreement that will enable the airline to distribute all of its published fares and the most demanded ancillary services in the travel agency channel. The Lufthansa subsidiary previously sold a limited range of its fares via Amadeus’ travel agency partners, using full e-ticketing.
Amadeus calls on airports to introduce cloud technology
Airports are increasingly identifying the need to switch to next generation cloud systems in order to improve operational efficiencies in a challenging marketplace, according to an insight paper launched by Amadeus today. IT makes sense to share: making the case for the cloud in Common Use airport technology collects the viewpoints of over 20 senior IT leaders from the airport industry to investigate the business case for adopting cloud based Common Use systems at airports.
Swiss signs on for Amadeus Altéa Suite
Amadeus and Swiss International Air Lines, Switzerland’s flag carrier, today announce a long-term strategic agreement that will see the airline adopt the core modules of the Amadeus Altéa Suite, in order to enhance its reservation, inventory and departure control processes. By migrating to Amadeus’ fully integrated PSS solution, SWISS will also benefit from more streamlined access to accurate passenger and flight data, as other Group member carriers Lufthansa, Air Dolomiti and Austrian Airlines have already implemented Amadeus’ Altéa technology.
New commercial leadership for Amadeus
Amadeus has announced the appointment of Iain Raeper as its regional commercial manager for Scotland and the north-east of England. Raeper will help to grow Amadeus’ relationships with existing customers in the area as well as driving new customer acquisition in Scotland and the north-east of England. He will be based in Scotland.
BeNe Rail signs up with Amadeus for new IT partnership
BeNe Rail International has agreed to enter into a long-term strategic IT partnership with Amadeus to create a new rail community IT platform as part of Amadeus’ Total Rail solution. This unique platform is based on the concept of a community model whereby a third party IT expert, Amadeus, develops and hosts applications for several rail companies to share in common and benefit from synergies.
Amadeus signs major deal with Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines and Amadeus IT Group have announced they have entered into a joint contract for Amadeus’ Altéa reservations solution that will support the carrier’s domestic service. Amadeus’ Altéa reservations solution currently supports the company’s international service, and Southwest has long indicated a desire to operate just one reservation system, operating multiple systems following the acquisition of AirTran and the launch of international service on Southwest.
