Europe’s national tourism authorities convened in Albania for the 70th meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for Europe, focusing on collaborative solutions to navigate the challenges and seize the opportunities in the post-pandemic tourism landscape. UN Tourism Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili lauded Albania’s exemplary leadership in tourism recovery and discussed sustainable tourism development with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Ryanair Announces New Routes and Expansion Plans at Tirana Airport
Ryanair Group CEO Michael O’Leary and Tirana Airport Operations Director Piervittorio Farabbi unveiled plans for Tirana International Airport’s development and the introduction of new Ryanair routes at a joint press conference. The airline is set to launch several new destinations this summer, including Bari, Birmingham, Bristol, Marseille, Vienna, and Budapest, in addition to existing routes, bringing the total to 22 destinations.

Border closures see Wizz Air suspend flights to Georgia and Albania
Flights to and from London Luton and Kutaisi, Georgia, will be suspended until April 20th, while flights between London Luton and Tirana, Albania, will be suspended until April 3rd.
