British Airways unveils seating plans for new aircraft
With the first of the airline’s new long-haul aircraft only six months away from delivery, British Airways has announced the cabin design and layout for its Boeing 787 and Airbus A380 aircraft. Two hundred and fourteen customers will enjoy the comforts of the new British Airways Dreamliner and the A380 will be the largest aircraft in the British Airways fleet, with 469 customers.
British Airways on course for first A380 delivery
The building of British Airways’ first Airbus A380 superjumbo aircraft has reached a major milestone, with the installation of the four giant Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines. The engines, which each produce 70,000 lbs of thrust, were attached to aircraft ‘MSN095’, the first of 12 A380s the airline has on order.
Emirates A380 lands at Gatwick
To celebrate 25 years of service to the UK, Emirates landed its flagship A380 aircraft at Gatwick Airport yesterday, marking the first scheduled A380 landing in the airport’s history.
Transaero Airlines orders four Airbus A380s
Transaero Airlines of Russia has completed a purchase agreement with Airbus for four A380 aircraft. The agreement was signed earlier by Olga Pleshakova, Transaero Airlines chief executive and Christopher Buckley, Airbus’ executive vice president Europe, Asia and the Pacific at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Malaysia Airlines joins Airbus A380 club
Malaysia Airlines has taken delivery of its first A380 aircraft at Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, becoming the eighth carrier of the world’s largest and most eco-efficient airliner. The new aircraft will fly non-stop from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur International Airport, three times a week, from July 2nd 2012.

Airbus ordered to expand A380 safety checks

Singapore Airlines to offer A380 service to Frankfurt and New York
Singapore Airlines has confirmed its Airbus A380 service is now flying to Frankfurt and New York, with the inaugural Singapore – Frankfurt – New York service having departed Singapore shortly after midnight. With more than 450 customers on board, flight SQ26 is scheduled to make its inaugural touchdown in Frankfurt at 06:10 local time.
Emirates brings Airbus A380 to Malaysia
Emirates celebrated the New Year in a ‘big’ way by becoming the first airline to operate a scheduled Airbus A380 service to Malaysia. The airline’s flagship, operating as EK346, piloted by Malaysian national Captain Kwong Yung Ling arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) earlier to a traditional welcome of a water canon salute.
Emirates to add third A380 service to London Heathrow
Emirates’ A380 services to London Heathrow will become triple daily from 24th January 2012. This will mean three out of the airline’s five daily flights into Heathrow will be served by the superjumbo.
