Air Austral becomes latest Airbus A220 customer
Air Austral has signed a firm order for three A220 aircraft. With the order, the Réunion Island-based airline becomes the first A220 customer based in the Indian Ocean region.
Air Austral receives first Boeing Dreamliner
Boeing has delivered the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Air Austral. The newest addition to the Air Austral long-haul fleet will touch down at Roland Garros Airport in Saint-Marie, Reunion Island tomorrow following a 10,500-mile delivery flight originating from the Boeing Everett Delivery Centre in Everett, Washington.
Air Mauritius, Air Austral and Air Madagascar announce working cooperation
A Press Conference in La Reunion was the forum for President Didier Robert of La Reunion to announce in the Presence of Minister Michael Sik Yuen of Mauritius and Mrs Vola Raveloson of the Madagascar Tourism Authority the recent agreement of these three Indian Ocean Airline Companies to cooperate in their services.
Air Australia collapse leaves thousands stranded
As many as five thousand passengers have been left stranded following a decision to put low-cost carrier Air Australia into administration overnight. All aircraft operated by the airline have been grounded indefinitely.
Air Austral inks A380 deal with Airbus
Air Austral, an airline based in Saint Denis, La Reunion, has signed a MoU with Airbus for the purchase of two A380s in a single-class configuration. In a single-class configuration the aircraft will seat around 840 passengers.
