Kenya’s national carrier, Kenya Airways has reaffirmed its prestige as the Pride of Africa after clinching four awards at the prestigious 2022 World Travel Awards.

Kenya has called on African tourism marketers to create synergies that can promote intra-Africa travel. Kenya hosts the Africa and Indian Ocean ceremony of the World Travel Awards this evening in Nairobi at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre.

Tourism leaders from across Africa have come together to rethink the sector and its central role in driving growth and opportunity across the continent.

Kenya is projecting to receive close to 1.46 million tourists before the end of 2022, as more borders reopen. The sector which was hard hit by adverse effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and has exuded confidence in heading to full recovery as it built on resilience, its powerful destination and growth of domestic tourism. It also plays host to the World Travel Awards Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony on the 15 October in Nairobi.
