VisitEngland: The search is on for England’s biggest fan

VisitEngland, the country’s national tourist board has launched a nationwide campaign to find England’s biggest fan for an all-expenses paid 70-day trip around the country. The organisation is looking for a budding travel writer / broadcaster / social networker who is passionate about England, and likes nothing more than exploring the country and passing on their experiences.

England’s biggest fan will follow hot on the heels of the Torch Relay stopping over in the towns visited by the Torch, blogging and writing about what they find as they go. Driving the length and breadth of the country in a classic camper van, provided by O’Connor Campers, the fan will create updates for Facebook and Twitter, blog posts, photographs and video footage of their amazing trip to inspire the rest of the country to take a holiday at home this year.

This Anglo-Trip of a lifetime will take the fan to some of the country’s most iconic cities, prettiest villages and most beautiful countryside and coastlines.

VisitEngland’s Chairman, Lady Cobham said:
“What this person won’t know about England by the end of the trip won’t be worth knowing! They will be England’s official number-one fan, and chief inspiration officer for the country. This is a brilliant opportunity to explore England to the full, and to cut their teeth at travel writing and broadcasting”

All potential fans should send VisitEngland 100 words on their favourite place in England along with a photograph by midnight on Monday 9 April to www.visitengland.com/faninavan. Those lucky enough to make it on to the shortlist will then go through to a second round. A final judging panel will interview the fans before a winner is chosen on 8 May.
