The number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport rose by 8.6% year-on-year to 1,700,590 in March 2012.

Flgiht movements and maximum take-off weight (MTOW) each declined by 2.7%, while cargo turnover fell by 11.7%. In contrast, the number of transfer passengers was 25.4% higher in March 2012 than in March of the previous year.

Passenger traffic to Eastern Europe and Western Europe rose by 22.8% and 5.0%, respectively, over March 2011. The number of passengers travelling to the Middle East was 12.9% higher in March 2012.
