Trainline to offer mobile ticketing in UK

Collecting multiple paper train tickets for your travels can now be a thing of the past, as Trainline announces that rail travellers in Norwich can use a smartphone based digital ticketing system, mTicketing when travelling by train.

Both advance and on-the-day rail tickets are now available for travellers to purchase and download as a mobile ticket via the Trainline App.

Mobile ticketing has also launched at Liverpool Street Station, meaning those wanting to make the most of Christmas shopping in the capital can do so without having to queue in a busy station to purchase or collect a ticket.

Simon Darling, commercial director at Trainline, said: “We’ve been working closely with train operators nationally to make mobile tickets a reality for customers and it’s fantastic to see Norwich open up to the benefits, especially at a busy time like Christmas.”

Trainline customers can purchase tickets in advance or on the day at trainline.com, or on the mobile app, and present their mobile ticket at all stations on the route, without having to collect or buy a physical ticket from the station, saving time and hassle at a busy time of year.
