Trafalgar launches first Africa programme for 2019

For the first time in 72 years, guided holiday expert Trafalgar has launched a dedicated programme in Africa.

The new portfolio features ten handcrafted trips visiting nine countries, including trips to five brand new destinations; Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Tanzania and Kenya.

The launch is a pivotal moment in Trafalgar’s brand history, paying homage to the homeland of Trafalgar chief executive, Gavin Tollman, and the wider Tollman family.

The family-owned and operated parent company, The Travel Corporation, has firm roots in Africa, allowing Trafalgar to create a product designed with immeasurable passion and unrivalled expertise.

Gavin Tollman, chief executive of Trafalgar, said: “This continent is our home, the place we know best.

“It is critical for us to do justice to that legacy, sharing with you the secrets and hidden gems that are part of our family.”

Via three different trip styles - Country Explorer, Regional Explorer and Mini Stay - clients can experience Africa like never before, with trips featuring exclusive access to the people and places behind the stories.

The 2019 programme features trips to five exciting new destinations; Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Tanzania and Kenya, plus exciting new itineraries to South Africa, alongside existing trips through Egypt and Morocco.

Trafalgar’s new Africa programme offers clients an immersive and intimate experience, with 12-15 guests on most Africa trips, and as few as four guests on its special Mini Stay adventures.
