Best of South America
For travelers looking to sample a taste of several countries, the 13-day Best of South America trip is a dream. This At Leisure itinerary takes guests to the continent’s most incredible sights, but also allows plenty of time for individual exploration. Starting in Rio de Janeiro and departing in Santiago, guests fly from Brazil to Argentina to Chile, with all internal flights included. And this trip doesn’t disappoint, with a number of amazing inclusions like a cable car ride up Sugar Loaf Mountain for breathtaking views of Rio and a cogwheel trip to the summit of the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. With something for everyone, fashionistas will love seeing rough gemstones turned into luxurious pieces of art while in Rio and learning how Argentine leathers are turned into fine goods at an artisan’s workshop in Buenos Aires. Foodies will delight in Trafalgar’s signature Be My Guest dinner in Buenos Aires, where guests are welcomed into a family home to be wined and dined with homecooked meals and taught the secrets of kneading country bread in the family kitchen. Other highlights include a scenic walk with a Local Guide through Iguassu Falls, a traditional barbeque and samba show in Rio and a winetasting and Highlight Lunch on the grounds of a winery in Santiago.

Patagonian Grand Adventure
For the ultimate explorer, the new 14-day Patagonian Grand Adventure will prove to be the trip of a lifetime. Starting and departing in Buenos Aires, the trip takes guests on a whirlwind adventure through Argentina and Chile, stopping off at the region’s most breathtaking national parks and scenic landscapes. After a few days enjoying Buenos Aires, guests head to Bariloche where they’ ll visit a family-owned brewery for a demonstration and Highlight Lunch before heading to the Chocolate Museum to sample an array of the local specialties. The adventure begins as guests meet up with a Local Guide to journey to the Serrano Glacier for a hike and exploration. Next up is Torres del Paine National Park, one of the region’s most picturesque environments, where a Local Guide shows guests cascading waterfalls, roaring creeks, shimmering lakes and spires of mountains. At UNESCO World Heritage Site, Los Glaciares National Park, travelers set off to discover the awe-inspiring landscape of almost 50 glaciers and one of the world’s largest ice caps. In between snapping photos of these incredible sights, guests are treated to an exclusive Be My Guest lunch with a local family at their ranch on the Patagonian steppe, listening to stories of the property that has been passed down through generations.

The trip is filled with exciting activities for all ages and focuses on educational fun, like learning about banana production at a plantation in Tortuguero National Park and visiting an organic pineapple farm in Sarapiqui. Kids will revel in all of the wildlife they’ll spot on treks through the colorful rainforests and on the riverboat cruise through the lagoons at Tortuguero.
