The Grand Tour Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London
This summer, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London invites guests to embark on a Grand Tour of European cuisine, in collaboration with its sister hotels across Europe: Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como, Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino and Mandarin Oriental Paris and Mandarin Oriental Barcelona. The Grand Tour Afternoon Tea is a celebration of some of the group’s iconic European hotels, their exquisite location, and the rich culinary traditions of each region.
Historically, The Grand Tour was a cultural trip through Europe, taken in the 18th Century by young men of rank, as a coming-of-age rite of passage. The route would often begin in France, venturing through Italy, and ending its tour in Greece. In this modern re-telling, The Grand Tour Afternoon Tea takes guests on a culinary journey, stopping off in some of Europe’s hot spots where Mandarin Oriental hotels are located.
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London’s Executive Pastry Chef Emmanuel Bonneau, and Executive Chef Francisco Hernandez invite guests to indulge in a menu of delicate savouries and sweet pastries such as L’Eclair, chicken souvlaki and so much more, all inspired by recipes from the featured hotel’s esteemed chefs. Guests are also encouraged to indulge in a curated selection of champagne, sparkling wine, and cava, including Moët et Chandon Vintage 2015 and Nyetimber NV Brut, expertly chosen by the hotel’s Director of Wine – Michael Deschamp.
The Grand Tour Afternoon Tea is served daily from 12 until 6:30pm and served in The Rosebery from 5 June until 3 September.
