TAP Portugal to link Lisbon with Abidjan, Ivory Coast

TAP Portugal has announced the launch of a new destination in Africa.

As of July 17th, TAP will fly via its hub in Lisbon to Abidjan, in Ivory Coast, taking the airline’s network to a total of 15 destinations in ten African countries.

There will be five weekly flights available.

With the new launch, TAP will make the economic capital of Ivory Coast more accessible from Europe, further reinforcing the airline’s strategic position in Africa.

The tropical destination offers numerous appealing beach resorts, in Assinie and Grand-Bassam, as well as inspiring architecture such as St. Paul’s Cathedral, in Abidjan, and the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, in Yamoussoukro, the country’s capital.

The news follows TAP’s additional launch destinations for 2017 as previously announced – Toronto, Stuttgart, Gran Canaria, Alicante, Bucharest and Budapest – and demonstrates the on-going commitment to providing an extensive route network to customers.

The direct connections between Lisbon and Abidjan will operate with A320 equipment, with capacity for 165 passengers, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, departing from Lisbon at 17:25 and returning from Abidjan at 23:00.

During the IATA winter, the operation will be of four weekly frequencies.
