Sudbury Station welcomes new ‘Adopter’

Sudbury Station welcomes new ‘Adopter’

Train operator Greater Anglia is to welcome John Sayers as the new station adopter at Sudbury. As a committee member of Sudbury is Bloom, John has been involved for some time in gardening at Sudbury station, now he hopes to take these efforts forward in his capacity as the official station adopter. John hopes to enhance the general appearance of the garden area at the station, whilst embracing the needs of wildlife too.

Petrina Murphy Greater Anglia’s Area Manager said: “I am delighted to welcome John to Sudbury station as our official station adopter. Sudbury station is an important gateway to the town and I am sure it will benefit greatly from John’s input.”

Station adopters play an important role in acting as the eyes and ears of their local community by providing feedback to the train operator on station related matters. Many adopters now get involved with initiatives such as gardening like John, as part of efforts to improve the environment at their local station. Around 80 stations across the Greater Anglia network have adopters working in partnership with local staff to help drive improvement at stations.
