Skyscanner positions for global growth

Leading global travel search site Skyscanner is creating 250 new jobs as it doubles its team over the next 12 months to support international growth.

Skyscanner has kicked off recruitment for the first wave of new roles across the business including engineering, web development, IT services and sales and marketing.

Successful candidates will be at the top of their profession and in a position to pioneer innovative ways of working as well as apply all their knowledge in a fun, hard-working, international environment.

Skyscanner currently employs over 250 members of staff and over 35 different nationalities across four offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Singapore and Beijing, with a fifth office in Miami opening this year.

Over 150 new jobs will be created in Scotland, with the remainder in Skyscanner’s international hubs in Singapore, Beijing and Miami.

To accommodate this growth, Skyscanner has expanded its global offices.

In Singapore and Edinburgh, additional floor space has already been secured to allow the company to grow rapidly over the coming months, while the company is seeking larger premises in Beijing and expects to finalise an office in Miami in the coming months.

Skyscanner has also signed a lease on a new office in Glasgow to further enable the recruitment of talent from across Scotland’s central belt.

Mark Logan, Skyscanner chief operating officer said: “Our growth over the past year has exceeded even our own ambitious targets thanks to a talented international team.

“Over 20 million people around the world are now using Skyscanner to find their flights, car hire and hotels each month, and our app has been downloaded over 25 million times.

“We’re delighted to be announcing the creation of a significant number of new jobs to enable us to continue to deliver the best travel search site to our users, wherever they are around the world.”
