With Carrentals.co.uk and Travelzoo both releasing new iPhone apps today – ahead of the expected launch of the new iPhone 5 later – Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has taken a slightly different tact.

Today, the airline has launched the TimeKiller, an iPhone App aimed at travellers not flying with SAS.

“Since SAS was named Europe’s most punctual airline for the last two years, 2009 and 2010, and the world’s most punctual airline for the summer months, July and August 2011, we have decided to create this app bearing in mind passengers who have to fly with airlines that do not have our exceptional punctuality record,” said Jeff Rebello, SAS business marketing and public relations Manager.

“The app, called The TimeKiller, is a great way of passing the time waiting for a delayed flight at the airport, for example.”

The app contains four very simple games – but very addictive – and is available to download free from the App Store now.

 

SAS Scandinavian Airlines offers more than 270 flights a week from the UK with a wide range of departure points to Scandinavia and Finland.
