Saga appoints Whitehouse to key marketing role

Following a significant review of the senior marketing team, Saga has appointed Dan Whitehouse to the role of marketing director for Saga Holidays and Cruises.

Whitehouse joins Saga, the leading provider of products and services to over 50s, in April from Titan Travel where he has been instrumental in the growth and development of the escorted tour operator.

Prior to joining Titan, Whitehouse also spent 15 years building his career in travel and marketing.

His role will report into Saga’s group marketing director, Stuart Beamish, and he will be responsible for leading, and evolving, Saga Travel’s marketing function to drive the growth of the business.

Saga recently announced that it had passed the first significant milestone in the build process for its first ever new build cruise ship with its steel cutting at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenberg.

Spirit of Discovery is due for delivery in summer 2019, followed soon after by the sister ship, Spirit of Adventure, that is due for delivery the following year.

With the build of the two new ships the company will have more than doubled its cruise capacity.

Whitehouse commented: “This is a fantastic time to be returning to Saga. With plans in place to invest in the creation of more exciting new travel experiences, it will leave both new and existing customers thinking ‘wow, I didn’t expect that from Saga’.”
