Nature lovers in south east Queensland can make their way up to humpback whale playground of Hervey Bay for less than $50, but they will have to B-Quick. Queensland Rail Travel has released its latest set of B-Quick fares, which are on sale from July 10-22 with travel between August 1 and September 19.
The fares include a $49 deal which encompasses rail travel on the Bundaberg Tilt Train between Brisbane and Maryborough and a coach transfer to Hervey Bay.
Queensland Rail Travel General Manager, Max Kruse, said the offer was one of several ways customers could get up close and personal with the whales passing along the Fraser Coast.
“Our Bundaberg Tilt Train can get you up to Maryborough in just over three-and-a-half hours, and with a fares as low as $49, it is the only way to travel to see the humpback whales this year,” Mr Kruse said.
“As well as the B-Quick fares, we are also offering a number of other great value whale watching adventures, which are on sale now.
“A family can enjoy a half-day cruise to see these majestic creatures in action, two nights in Hervey Bay and return rail travel from just $485 per adult. This price includes free rail travel for children with every adult who pays a full fare, while a couple can take advantage of the same package from just $329 per person.”
Mr Kruse said there are a number of other great deals as part of the B-Quick sale, especially for customers wanting to escape the south east’s chilly winter.
“B-Quick fares represent between a 30 and 50 per cent saving off the normal ticket cost,” Mr Kruse said.
“North Queensland is the perfect place to visit to escape winter. We can get you from Brisbane to Airlie Beach and Townsville from $129 and Cairns from $149.
