Experience the enchantment of the Ekka Express

Experience the enchantment of the Ekka Express

Bundaberg residents will again be able to take the train direct to the Brisbane Exhibition, following the popularity of Queensland Rail Travel’s Ekka Express last year.

Going to the show by rail, customers will be able to step off the Tilt Train at Exhibition station just after the gates open, and they can also take advantage of discounted fares for same day return travel.

Queensland Rail Travel General Manager Max Kruse said the Ekka Express was a great success last year, and it is the best way for regional showgoers to get directly to and from Queensland’s largest annual event.

“The Ekka Express is the stress-free option for families to travel return from Bundaberg to the RNA showgrounds and enjoy the huge entertainment line-up that the Ekka has to offer,” Mr Kruse said.

“The discounted fares are available on all weekdays throughout the duration of the show.  Adults can purchase a return journey for $82.50 while a child’s fare costs just $49.50.

“With more than 70 per cent of the show dedicated to free events and activities, the Ekka Express makes the rest of the planning easy and affordable.

“There is so much to see and do for every age and interest, so it is no wonder attending the Brisbane Exhibition is a long-standing tradition for so many Queensland families.

“Queensland Rail Travel has a long history of supporting regional Queensland and we are pleased to be able to offer this service to the people of Bundaberg and surrounding areas.”

The Bundaberg Tilt Train departs at 5:15am Monday to Friday and arrives in Brisbane just before 10am.

The return journey leaves Brisbane at 4:55pm on weekdays and customers will arrive at Bundaberg station at 9:30pm.
