New sales chief for Rosewood Corniche

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has appointed Sherif El Mansoury as the new director of sales and marketing for its ultra luxury Jeddah property Rosewood Corniche.

El Mansoury has joined Rosewood Corniche from Mosaic Palais Aziza & Spa Hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco where he was the director of sales & marketing responsible for the design of a business strategy that allowed the property to survive the sharp industry competition in one of the most popular tourist destinations in North Africa.

Hans Peter-Leitzke, managing director of Rosewood Corniche, said: “Sherif brings a wealth of experience to the role and his appointment marks a further step in the development of Rosewood Corniche which has been strongly proving its presence in the Saudi Arabian hospitality sector since it opened its doors in 2007.

“Rosewood Corniche brings together a skilled and devoted team that works hard to deliver uniquely personalised services to all our guests.

“We welcome Sherif to the Rosewood Corniche family and look forward to working with him.”

Prior to joining Rosewood Corniche, El Mansoury worked at Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay, where he was director of sales until 2010.

He served as associate director of sales at the famous Fairmont Nile City Hotel in Cairo, before being promoted to director of sales.

During his tenure with Fairmont, he was successful in setting up the hotel’s travel team and highly contributed to the planning process of attracting international guests, specifically from European and GCC markets.

From 2000 to 2007, El Mansoury worked in sales at the Ritz-Carlton, Sharm El Sheikh, playing an essential role in representing the hotel in international fairs, managing GCC and European markets, and securing a greater productivity through increasing average room rate, occupancy and business volume during challenging periods.
