New leadership for St. Kitts Tourism Authority

St. Kitts minister of tourism and international transport, Ricky Skerritt, has announced the appointment of Racquel Brown as the new chief executive for the St. Kitts Tourism Authority.

The new appointment follows the departure of Acting chief executive, Carolyn James.

Brown comes to the position of chief executive with a depth of experience gained in both the public and private sectors in the Cayman Islands, Jamaica and the Eastern Caribbean, including Sandals Resorts International, the US Agency for International Development, and the Inter-American Development Bank.

More recently she was employed as the deputy director for the Cayman Islands department of tourism.

Her work experience includes destination branding, customer relationship management, development of heritage and cultural programmes for sustainable tourism, and quality standards for public transportation and accommodation.

In welcoming Brown to the team Skerritt said: “The St. Kitts Tourism Authority looks forward to the addition of the new chief executive to its leadership team, to strengthen tourism policies for promoting stakeholder partnership and people empowerment, and for the design and implementation of various initiatives in product development and strategic marketing.”
