London City Airport’s punctuality soars in 2011

London City Airport’s punctuality soars in 2011

London City Airport’s on-time performance continues to beat all other UK airports. Statistics recently published by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) marked London City Airport’s arriving and departing scheduled services at 89% on time, three percentage points higher than any other major UK Airport.

Whilst punctuality has declined at some of the other UK airports monitored by the CAA during the second quarter of 2011, it actually improved at London City Airport. This high service level pays testament to the airport’s investment in additional aircraft parking stands in 2008, along with the ground operations team working closely with all airlines operating at London City Airport to deliver the most efficient and punctual service.

During the second quarter of 2011, London City Airport had an impressive average delay time of only six minutes, half of that at London Heathrow and Manchester Airport.

Richard Gooding, Chief Executive Officer, London City Airport said, “We are delighted with the performance shown in the CAA statistics.  Our ground staff strive to ensure that passengers and airline’s enjoy fast throughput at all times.  With the best punctuality levels and close proximity to the financial districts and City, London City Airport is the number one choice for business travellers”.
