Live it! Love it! LOUDER! at the Cape Town Stadium Soccer Festival
Cape Town Tourism is urging all Capetonians to “Live It! Love It! LOUDER!” at the first in a series of Cape Town Stadium test events on January 23, 2010. Three days ahead of the big game all 20,000 tickets are sold out and Cape Town Tourism is pleased to see the enthusiasm with which Capetonians have heeded the call for this inaugural event.
As part of the City of Cape Town’s “readiness program,” ticket-holders will have the opportunity to witness the stadium’s first soccer match when two of Cape Town’s top Premier Soccer League teams, Ajax Cape Town and Santos, will battle it out. Ticket prices were capped at R30-R50 to afford many Capetonians the opportunity of experiencing this exciting and historic opportunity.
In true afro-soccer style, Cape Town Tourism’s Live it! Love it! LOUDER! citizen activation campaign urges all Capetonians to get soccer mad as the city gears up to welcome the world in June. The Live It! Love It! LOUDER! campaign was introduced to the public at the “One Year to Kick Off” event held on June 15, 2009. The Live It! Love It! LOUDER! ambassadors have since been a loud, colorful force at many Cape Town events – teaching people to blow vuvuzelas and diski dance.
Said Cape Town Tourism’s marketing destination manager, Lianne Burton, “We want the citizens of Cape Town to become irrepressibly filled with pride, excitement, and a real willingness to support the biggest sporting event in South Africa’s history.” The campaign speaks to Cape Town Tourism’s mantra Live Cape Town! Love Cape Town! by turning up the volume to add more noise, more fun, and more color to Cape Town’s warmest welcome ever.
