Jet Airways has announced a strategic association with online transportation network Uber.
With this first-of-its kind initiative in the Indian aviation space, Jet Airways’ guests will be able to request their Uber when booking a ticket on the Jet Airways app.
The cab booking feature will be available to all Jet Airways’ guests in the 29 cities where Uber currently operates in India.
At the same time, Jet Airways is to introduce new, non-stop flights and additional frequencies between destinations to enhance connectivity and choice across India.
The new summer schedule will see Jet Airways bolstering its network to offer guests nearly 650 flights a day.
The carrier will launch new, direct services to Madurai and Bagdogra from Mumbai (effective March 26th) - becoming the first airline to connect the country’s financial capital with two well-known cities via non-stop flights.
Similarly, the airline will also connect Jaipur with Chandigarh, Dehradun with Srinagar, and Bengaluru with Kozhikode with non-stop flights.
While Bagdogra is a major gateway for travellers to Eastern India, especially to scenic destinations in Darjeeling and Sikkim; Madurai - a major historical city, ranks among the most popular holy sites in the country.
