Flybe reports passenger numbers heading for easter take off

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, is gearing up for a busy holiday weekend with bookings to date up 4% over last year on its 50 most popular routes for Easter and Good Friday looking to be one of the busiest days as people head off to enjoy the first long break of the year,

Included amongst the airline’s best-selling routes over the upcoming holiday weekend is its Manchester to Paris Charles de Gaulle route (up 42%), Belfast City to Birmingham (up 38%), Jersey to Southampton (up 28%), Birmingham to Edinburgh (up 17%).

Other regional routes that make it affordable and convenient to visit friends and family and high on Flybe’s top destination list are flights to and from regional France, Germany and Spain and traditional sun routes such as Exeter to Alicante (up 49%) and Southampton to Malaga (up 21%).

The four-day holiday also spans the start of the airline’s 2013 summer flying programme that features a choice of up to 2,986 flights a week on 146 routes, 14 of which are operating for the first time this summer,
