Flybe launches mobile website

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has launched its first mobile website optimised for a wide variety of devices including iPhone, Blackberry, Windows 7 and Android that is currently available in four languages namely English, Finnish, French and German. It offers customers the ability to search and book all direct and indirect services available whilst on the move via their mobile devices, including those offered by Flybe’s franchise partner, Loganair*.  Customers can also choose any of the numerous add-on choices available during the booking process that includes pre-assigned seat selection and baggage options.

The new optimised mobile website forms an integral part of Flybe’s recently introduced ‘Making flying better’ campaign, the key aim being to provide transparency in pricing through processes and technology.  Pricing is now clearly displayed at every stage of booking to ensure that customers are made fully aware of the cost of their ticket as they move through the booking process, with no hidden extras appearing at the end.

Simon Lilley, Flybe’s Director of Marketing comments: “Flybe is pleased to introduce this new mobile website distribution channel to our customers that makes doing business with us just as easy whether you are on the move, at home or in the office. The rapid growth in mobile is arguably more critical amongst air travellers than most other sectors, so it was vital for us to deliver rapidly on the promise that we made in our ‘Making flying better’ plans just three months ago. Reaction to our new website has been very good and we genuinely believe this new quick and easy-to-use mobile site will prove just as popular.

“The launch of Flybe mobile is just the start. We have many more developments planned for the near future to make sure that our passengers can take advantage of, and benefit from, the very latest technology available.”
