Fairmont hotel to be built in Hangzhou
FRHI Hotels & Resorts (FRHI), the parent company of luxury hotel brand Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, and Hengli Management have announced Fairmont Hangzhou, a new luxury hotel development in the capital city of Zhejiang province in the heart of Yangtze River Delta region, Eastern China.
Expected to open in 2017, Fairmont Hangzhou will feature 300 rooms, five diverse dining outlets, a health club and swimming pool, a Willow Stream Spa, and more than 32,000 square feet (3,000 square meters) of meeting and banquet space. The project will also include 180 Fairmont Serviced Residences, providing access to private concierge services and other exclusive amenities.
Like many of its iconic sister hotels around the world, which lay claim to some of the best addresses in town, Fairmont Hangzhou will be located atop the city’s tallest building, enjoying an enviable spot in the heart of Qianjiang Century CBD, an upcoming business center that will house large scale meeting and convention venues, Grade A office towers, high-end residences and commercial and retail spaces.
“We continue to expand our footprint in China and are excited to be adding a hotel in a major domestic market like Hangzhou,” said Jennifer Fox, president, FRHI International and Fairmont Brand.
“It’s a city that is renowned for its culture, history and beauty, as well as a destination that attracts both domestic and international travelers. Furthermore, with rail and airport expansion projects underway, and visitor numbers expected to rise, it’s an opportune time to be entering the market.” Added Fox.
