Ebookers.com announce new president

ebookers.com, one of Europe’s premier travel agents, owned and operated by global online company Orbtiz Worldwide, today announce the appointment of Nigel Pocklington as Senior Vice President and President, who will start his new position on 18th May.

In his London-based role, Pocklington, who has a wealth of experience holding senior travel industry roles, will be responsible for ebookers’ business strategy, development and operations across 12 countries in Europe.

Taking over from outgoing president Tamer Tamer, Nigel joins ebookers from online financial marketing business Media Ingenuity, where he currently serves as CEO. Prior to this, he spent six years at Expedia within its Hotel.com business holding a number of leadership positions including global Chief Marketing Officer and Managing Director for EMEA.

Before Hotels.com, Nigel spent over ten years at Pearson PLC, serving initially as Director of Strategy and Development before moving to the Financial Times as Director of Online Publishing, where he was responsible for the newspaper’s digital businesses, including FT.com.
