ebookers takes part in world’s largest environmental event
ebookers.com today announces it will take part in the largest environmental event, Earth Hour, on 31st March. Joining individuals, business and communities around the world, ebookers will switch off all of its lights to help raise awareness of climate change.
The initiative, which takes place between 8.30 and 9.30pm this Saturday, aims to send a powerful message on climate change by bringing communities together to take responsibility and help build a sustainable future.
All of ebookers’ nine offices will be taking part by ensuring all lights* are switched off during the event, as well as encouraging its 273 staff members to participate at home.
Jessica Cracker, Marketing Manager, ebookers UK, said: “Earth Hour is an effective way of getting people to stop and think about the environment and the difference we can all make. Participating in the event is a great way for us to us kick start ebookers’ 2012 environmental initiatives and we’ll be continuing this throughout the year with environmental talks and exhibitions, sponsorship of environmental protection campaigns, carrying out charity work, and volunteering, which will see ebookers raise the equivalent of 273 volunteer days by 2014.”
