Darin Davies, director of front house operations at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, has recently been appointed president of the Association for Front Office Managers & Deputy Managers of Luxury Hotels.

AICR was founded in 1964 by the front office leader of several grand hotels in the south of France.

The international organisation is represented in 15 countries and has just under 1,000 members and provides front office managers of luxury hotels with an invaluable network offering along with organising the coveted David Campbell Trophy.

Darin’s role as president will give him a great insight into the hospitality industry.

His new roles and responsibilities will include liaising with members worldwide, expanding the association, planning for the next presidium and receptionist of the year competition in Hamburg.

Commenting on the appointment JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai general manager, Rupprecht Queitsch said: “When hiring the hotels 1,000 associates, we ensured that we recruited higher levels of experience in hospitality and where possible, the Marriott brand.

“I was therefore delighted to hear that Darin had been appointed such a prestigious and influential role within AICR.

“I am sure his experiences with the body will provide him with a wealth of knowledge which will help better our business, and in particular the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai’s front of house offering.”
