EDT Learning, Inc. (AMEX:EDT), a leading provider of Web collaboration and virtual classroom software, today announced that it had signed a new contract with the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) to provide the Association with iLinc(TM), EDT Learning`s Web conferencing, collaboration, and communication software. The Association plans to use the software to collaborate with its internal staff located in Michigan, Florida, and Washington DC, as well as for their national sales efforts and customer training. AH&LA is a 93-year-old federation of state lodging associations throughout the United States with some 11,000 property members nationwide, representing more than 1.5 million guest rooms. Specific terms of the contract were not disclosed.
“We plan to use iLinc for our internal meetings, sales presentations, and to create an additional revenue stream for our Association by providing online training to our membership,” noted Richard Jackson, vice president and chief information officer for AH&LA. “The cost savings are immediate, the product is powerful, and the increase in our productivity is tremendous. We are always looking for ways to add more value for our members while keeping our costs to a minimum. We estimate that iLinc could save us thousands of dollars every month while increasing productivity and expanding our services to our members.”
AH&LA also purchased i-Canvas(TM), EDT Learning`s proprietary content development software that enables non-technical training professionals to produce self-paced, Web-based training. Content produced in i-Canvas can also be managed and administered through iLinc`s Communication Center. This provides organizations with a centralized solution for synchronous (live) meetings and asynchronous (self-paced) content and documents.
