Amadeus Signs Leading UK Consolidator in India

Amadeus, a leading global distribution system (GDS)
and technology provider to the travel industry, today signed Greaves Travel
as a major UK customer.

Providing over 55,000 tickets per annum to the Indian sub-continent each
year - which represents approximately 15% of all UK travel to this region -
Greaves Travel is a recognised specialist in flights to India.

Since deciding to install Amadeus
Pro Tempo in November 2000, Greaves has
worked closely with Amadeus and FSS, part of the Anite Travel Systems Group,
to integrate Greaves` existing ticketing system into the GDS so that
continuity with the travel agents previous front-end system was maintained.

“The transition to Amadeus has been an easy one,” commented Mehera Dalton,
Managing Director, Greaves Travel.  “Amadeus has worked closely with us
throughout this entire process to develop a program that met, and surpassed,
all of our travel reservation needs and transitioned smoothly from our
previous system.”

“We are delighted to be working with Greaves Travel particularly as it is
such a landmark player in one of the worlds most rapidly evolving travel
markets,” commented Peter Cacioppo UK sales director, Amadeus.  “It is our
hope that our systems will continue to evolve to meet the needs of travel
agents and airlines alike.

In addition to our project with Greaves Travel, we have had over 400
employees working on developments for British Airways and their migration
project over the last two years to develop our GDS in keeping with the needs
of the airline.  With this final transition nearing completion, and as an
increasing number of agents migrate across to our system, we are on track to
increase our market share to 25% by the end of 2004.”

“The challenge for FSS was to produce an Amadeus ticketing solution for
Greaves Travel that would enable them to take advantage of Amadeus`
connectivity whilst continuing the benefits of using the FSS Travel System,”
said Ed Spiers, Product Development Director, Anite Travel Systems “The
result allows Greaves to produce tickets through the FSS front end which
drives the Amadeus EDI (electronic data interchange) link, allowing
continuity for the end user and automatically updating the back office
system of FSS with the ticketed details.”
