Sabre inks five-year Continental deal

Sabre Holdings and Continental Airlines have revealed that Continental has signed new five-year, full content agreements with Sabre Travel Network and Travelocity.Through the agreement with Sabre Travel Network, all Continental published fares and inventory will be available for subscribers of the Sabre global distribution system (GDS), including online and offline travel agencies. This includes published fares that the airline sells through any third-party Web site and through its own Web site and reservation offices.

Concurrent with that agreement, Continental also signed a new five-year, full-content agreement with Travelocity.

“This long-term agreement ensures travel agencies that they will have full access to all fare information for Continental,” said Hugh Jones, chief operating officer, Sabre Travel Network. “This in turn means that their customers, both business and leisure travelers, can be assured of getting the best price with the convenience and service they have come to expect.”

“We are pleased to provide Sabre subscribers with access to our full content offering through this agreement,” said Jim Compton, executive vice president of marketing, Continental Airlines. “Continental has been a strong advocate for change on distribution efficiency through the GDS channel. This new agreement will help us to make additional progress towards that goal.”
