Website walks through Queensland

Queensland boasts some of the best bushwalking tracks in the world and with the launch of www.queenslandwalks.com.au it is now easy to explore the wonders of the Sunshine State on foot.The website not only showcases walks from the coast to the Outback, but also provides useful links to other sites, making planning a stay in Queensland all that much easier.

With nearly five per cent of Queensland protected as National Parks, there is a myriad of unspoilt tracks and paths waiting to be discovered.

 

Whether you are after a short, half day, full day, multi day or Great!Walk, the new website has got it covered!

Queensland’s Great!Walks are a series of six world-class walking tracks throughout the State. Four of the Great!Walks are now open to the public including Fraser Island, Whitsundays, Wet Tropics and Mackay Highlands, with the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great!Walk opening in April and the Gold Coast Hinterland Great!Walk due to open in 2007.

 

With easy road access, guided tours and fantastic accommodation and camping options, there is a path for everyone to explore within the diverse and stunning scenery Queensland has to offer.

 

The website has been categorised by Queensland region to assist people to find their favourite walk in a particular area. There are also useful tips and hints for each walk as well as personal recommendations from experienced Bushwalking Ambassadors.

 

All of the bush walks are self-paced and adaptable to suit any age, fitness level or itinerary. For the keen walker there are a range of multi-day treks with excellent camping facilities available. Or for a quick snapshot of the surrounding native area, there are also many short one to two hour walks available.
