Amadeus Launch Car e-vouchers

Amadeus has launched its car e-voucher product in partnership with Avis, Europcar and Hertz.  This latest development in non-air ticketless travel will not only make life easier for customers, but it will also allow agents to save time - improving operational efficiency and raising levels of customer service.

Richard Munday, Operations Manager, Cambridge Business Travel said: “Travellers have become used to ticketless travel when flying, so it is a natural progression to remove paper documentation from ground arrangements such as car rental.  People don’t want the hassle of carrying around paperwork when they travel on business, only to end up misplacing it when they need it the most - at the car rental counter. This latest development will help our agents by reducing administrative duties so they can focus on the more important tasks of selling and serving the needs of our customers. Another benefit that appeals to a growing segment of travellers is that car e-vouchers are eco-friendly.”

Elaine Seeto, Director of Marketing, Amadeus UK & Ireland added: “As the global leader in technology we are constantly striving to develop our offering in ways which enhance the travel agent and end customer experience.  In line with our programme of helping agents maximise revenues from non-air bookings, Amadeus was one of the first companies to launch estimated total car rental pricing in 2004 and we are the first travel technology provider to launch car e-vouchers in the UK. This reinforces our position as a leader in research and development for technology solutions for the travel and tourism industry.  We are confident that car e-vouchers will prove popular with today’s travellers and look forward to fully deploying the product with our partners Avis, Europcar and Hertz.”
