Bletchley derailment halts long-distance Euston services
A train derailment at Bletchley has caused havoc with long-distance passengers seeking to reach London Euston station this morning.
Tens of thousands of passengers from Scotland and north of England are believed to be affected, following the derailment of a freight train on the West Coast main line earlier.
The incident occurred at 02:28, with the driver taken to hospital.
Nobody else is believed to have been injured in the incident.
There is believed to be damage to tracks, points and to overhead.
A spokesman for Network Rail said: “We apologies to passengers for the disruption.
“Our engineers and investigators are at the scene.”
