Aqua Yoga classes arrive at Fairmont St Andrews

Fairmont St Andrews is the first and only hotel in Scotland to introduce Aqua Yoga classes, launching a four week summer programme.

Encompassing the principles and movement of yoga and adapting them to water, the new class will be available to members, non-members and hotel guests every Wednesday from 09:45-10:30 offering something new, exciting and dynamic to the St Andrews community.

Classes will be held in the hotels luxury swimming pool and will reflect the energy of St Andrews natural surroundings.

Fairmont St Andrews’ spa fuses Celtic spirit, ancient traditions and contemporary techniques.

Led by local yoga teacher Sarah McLaughlin, founder and owner of Hot House Yoga St Andrews, she has been practicing yoga for over seven years and designed the class to be suitable to all experience levels and to help with stretching, flexibility and mobility.

McLaughlin said: “I believe yoga brings everyone together and helps to leave your daily stresses to one side and be really present in the moment.

“I am really excited to launch the hotels first Aqua Yoga class which will be a full body workout that will leave bodies stretched and minds refocused.”

“Aqua Yoga boasts many health benefits, with the release of gravity the body is able to find optimum stretch which tones and eases any tensions.

“Creating a sense of inner relaxation is also great to prevent injuries in other sports or help recover if you have experienced an injury.”
