In response to media enquiries regarding no-eating and drinking in the paid areas of the MTR network, the MTR Corporation wishes to point out that it always strives to provide a comfortable journey for all passengers and therefore, does not allow eating or drinking in the paid areas of stations or on trains.

All along, MTR passengers have been very supportive in observing this rule. Indeed, the Corporation relies on the cooperation of all passengers to help it to keep the MTR network as one of the world’s cleanest railways.
Other than posters and public announcements to remind passengers of the no-eating or drinking rule, the Corporation also holds promotional and advertising campaigns each year to enlist passengers’ assistance in helping to keep the MTR clean and to be considerate of others. We wish to take this opportunity to thank all MTR passengers for their understanding and cooperation.
