Avis Budget Group has signed a new partnership agreement with Silver Airways, a US-owned and operated airline with nearly 200 daily scheduled flights. Under the exclusive agreement, Avis Car Rental and Budget Car Rental will be designated as Silver Airways’ preferred car rental providers and Silver Airways travellers will receive car rental savings when they rent Avis or Budget vehicles.

In today’s “wired” world, going on a trip without having access to one’s smartphone can be a source of great stress. Yet many travelers often forget to bring along their phone chargers, leading to dead batteries and unusable gadgets.

Avis Car Rental has selected a licensee to launch car rental operations in Laos and Cambodia. Avis Car Rental will officially enter both markets with the opening of airport and city facilities in Luang Prabang, Pakse and Vientiane in Laos; and Phnom Penh and Siam Reap in Cambodia.

Avis Car Rental has unveiled its model-year 2014 vehicle roster, which will soon be available at Avis locations across the United States. “We take great pride in operating a young fleet that is structured to meet the various rental needs of travellers and those in need of temporary ground transportation,” said Tom Gartland, president, Avis, North America.

Avis Car Rental is celebrating more than 300,000 vehicle exchange/upgrade transactions for Avis Preferred® Select & Go, the Company’s vehicle selection service. Launched in June 2012 and now available at top airport locations in North America, Avis Preferred Select & Go empowers frequent renters to select the vehicle that best fits their needs without ever visiting the rental counter.

Avis Car Rental is celebrating its 50th anniversary in Mexico, commemorating the occasion with a recent gala event at the Hotel St. Regis in Mexico City. Among the attendees were members of the senior management team of Avis Budget Group, as well as Avis Mexico Chief Executive Officer Alberto Gomez, invited guests and customers.
