Visit Jordan announces Treasure Hunt campaign

The Treasure Hunt centers around a website designed to increase awareness of the many great experiences that Jordan provides its visitors and will mark the beginning of a series of celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the rediscovery of Petra.

There will also be a chance for participants to win valuable commemorative prizes, including weekly prizes consisting of great Dead Sea products (worth over 50JDs) from Dolmen Dead Sea Products and monthly prizes like gift vouchers and an ounce of gold especially designed for this campaign in celebration of Petra.

The Grand Prize, of course, is the real treasure. After completing the required stages of the game, the participants that have actually traveled to Jordan will be entered into a draw to win a pound of gold, with the winner being announced at the celebration ceremony for Petra in August of 2012.

In conjunction with the online campaign, not only on JTB’s website but on travel-related websites throughout Europe, promotional efforts have consisted of outdoor, taxi, metro, and various print campaigns. This is the first time that one campaign has spanned more than one country in Europe, and it is hoped that its impact is the greatest Jordan will see so far.

Despite it being promoted in traditional media in Europe, participants from all over the world are able to enter the game online. JTB encourages everybody to play, learn about Jordan, explore the endless possibilities of experiences in Jordan and, of course, travel to Jordan to be part of this amazing celebration for Petra.

Also in Jordan today, City.Mobi is celebrating the success of its new guide to Amman.

City.Mobi offers the most comprehensive mobile travel guides available, with over 800 cities in 200 countries listed. Each is developed by the City.Mobi team to combine into a single global travel directory.

Amman.mobi is the latest in this illustrious line up, offering click to call functionality – which means no scribbling down telephone numbers.
