US Airways launches new Texas service

US Airways is launching a new daily, non-stop service from the airline’s international gateway of Philadelphia International Airport to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and San Antonio International Airport.

Customers in two of the largest cities in the Lone Star State will benefit from more convenient access to destinations throughout the East Coast, Canada and Europe as a result of the new flights.

“We’re pleased to offer travellers convenient non-stop service between our international gateway at Philadelphia International Airport and two of the top destinations in Texas,” said Bob Ciminelli, US Airways’ vice president, Philadelphia hub. “The new flights will not only provide customers in the Lone Star State with access to historic Philadelphia, but also with one-stop service to numerous international and domestic destinations via our easy to navigate northeast hub.”

“We are pleased that travellers in the Philadelphia region now have convenient, non-stop flights to Austin and San Antonio,” said Rina Cutler, Philadelphia Deputy Mayor, Transportation and Utilities. “We are proud of our partnership with US Airways and look forward to additional new flights to new cities.”

Today the airline also launched a sixth daily flight between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Philadelphia and a fourth and fifth daily flight between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and its Charlotte, N.C. hub.
