MP praises new service to Maidenhead

On Wednesday 4th November, MP for Maidenhead Theresa May and First Great Western Managing Director, Mark Hopwood officially launched the 1750 fast service from Paddington which now stops at Maidenhead.

The new service arrives in Maidenhead at 1809, and reduces the journey time from Paddington to Maidenhead to just 18 minutes.

Theresa said “I am delighted First Great Western has managed to secure a new fast commuter service following sustained discussions between me, local rail users and First Great Western.

“I have been asking FGW for a better evening service for some time now and this new train should improve the timetable for everybody.

“There is still some way to go before we have the service we want - in particular there is an urgent need for a later evening service from Maidenhead and Twyford - but I am pleased to see that FGW have listened to these calls and are continuing to improve their service.”

“We continue to focus on improving performance and punctuality and delivering the best possible service for all our customers.”
