Green Globe Certification today introduced its Green Globe App for Android mobile devices. The App for Android can be downloaded for free at Google Play (category Travel&Local), and www.greenglobe.com. So far the App has only been available for Apple iPads, iPhones, and iPods.

The Green Globe App is the only mobile application for Apple and Android devices that allows travelers to instantly search for sustainable resorts, hotels, conference centers, attractions, tour experiences, and wedding options. The Green Globe App delivers photos and descriptions of Green Globe-certified businesses, with direct links to booking, views in google-earth, and YouTube videos.

Green Globe Certification’s CEO, Guido Bauer, said, “As the leader in certification of sustainable travel and tourism businesses, we are pleased to announce that due to our App’s great success with Apple devices, we are extending its availability to Android phones and tablets.”

The Green Globe App provides access to hotels and resort and other tour options that meet the highest level of sustainable management and operation. All Green Globe members are rigorously certified under 41 criteria, which have been accepted globally as the definition of sustainable travel and tourism. To complete the certification process, these members undergo an independent on-site audit to ensure that their sustainability efforts have been thoroughly inspected.
