Dreamliner grounding prompts JAL route cancellation

Dreamliner grounding prompts JAL route cancellation

Japan Airlines has decided to postpone the launch of its non-stop service between Tokyo (Narita) and Helsinki originally scheduled on February 25th.

The decision has been taken in view of necessary adjustments to international routes at the airline which utilise the Boeing 787 Dreamliner following its grounding on since January 16th, 2013.

All Dreamliners are presently barred from passenger operations as investigators work to understand what caused a series of onboard incidents earlier this year.

The rescheduled date of opening of the JAL Narita-Helsinki service will be announced at a later time and customers with confirmed reservations on concerned flights will be informed about alternative options.

JAL apologised to all customers and related parties for the inconvenience and concerns caused as a result of recent issues with the 787 fleet.
