Barbuda set for barefoot luxury

The secluded island of Barbuda, sister island to Antigua, now boasts one of the most stylish and contemporary boutique properties in the Caribbean. The Beach House, situated on a stunning pink sand beach, has undergone a total refurbishment, redesigned as the ultimate in pampered seclusion. The 21 suites, all facing the ocean, have been elegantly furnished with cool, contemporary fabrics, king size four-poster beds and a range of modern amenities.  Each suite has an elegant bathroom and private decked terrace as well as a sitting area with a three-seat couch and large coffee table.

Guests are assigned a Personal Service Ambassador, attending to their every requirement in an attentive - yet never intrusive - manner. Ambassadors are on-hand to assist with arranging activities, trips and meal requirements and provide a complimentary welcome massage. Tranquillity and relaxation are the core philosophies of The Beach House, offering an idyllic island retreat and an unhurried, peaceful atmosphere.

The property is located at Palmetto Point on one of the most spectacular and wild natural beaches of all the Caribbean islands. A range of activities is available, including lobster fishing, sailing, snorkelling and island tours. Guests can also enjoy a visit to Barbuda’s beautiful Frigate Bird Colony as well as trips to nearby Antigua.

A stylish bar and restaurant are situated on-site, although guests can choose to have their meals and drinks served anywhere on the property. Room service is available 24 hours a day and delicious picnic hampers can be prepared on-demand.

Shirlene Nibbs, Director General of Tourism for Antigua and Barbuda, commented: “This stunning property is a fantastic addition to Antigua and Barbuda’s portfolio of luxurious accommodation. Barbuda is a very special island, unlike any other in the Caribbean, with a rich and varied wildlife and miles of unspoilt beaches and coral reefs. The Beach House perfectly complements the island’s unique natural charms”.
