Alitalia Signs Fares Management Deal With Sabre Airline Solutions
A third member of the SkyTeam alliance, Alitalia Linee Aeree Italiane SPA,
has signed a deal with Sabre Airline Solutions
, for its state-of-the-art
AirPrice system.
Used by seven of the world’s top twelve airlines, the new system will help

Alitalia maximise its revenues through the tactical and strategic analysis
and management of fares.
The AirPrice system will help pricing analysts examine relative market
data, including competitors’ changes, to make rapid pricing decisions and
maximise Alitalia’s revenues by up to one per cent. It complements the six
other Sabre Airline Solutions revenue management and planning tools that
Alitalia already has in place, enabling tight integration among the
airline’s operational systems.
Commenting on new installation, Gianni Matassa, director of pricing,
revenue management systems and operations, Alitalia said: “We needed to
get this capability in place quickly. Our previous experience with Sabre
Airline Solutions proved that they had the experience and the right
technology to get this done. In addition, their end-to-end offering of
technology for airline operations ensures that we can have a truly
integrated solution - boosting operational productivity and our bottom
line.”
