Travellers will soon be able to fly from city to city within minutes, according to entrepreneur Elon Musk.

Speaking at the International Astronautical Congress in Adelaide, Australia, Musk said he is refocusing SpaceX to work on just one type of vehicle - known as the BFR.

This vehicle could do all of the firm’s current work, as well as interplanetary travel, he explained.

Musk told the audience he aimed to start sending people to Mars in 2024.

Back on earth, a promotional video says the London-New York journey would take 29 minutes, while the BFR will be capable of taking people from any city to any other city on earth in under one hour.
