Job losses expected as TUI UK pulls out of Coventry

TUI UK & Ireland, which operates holiday brands Thomson and First Choice, has announced the decision to close its Coventry office by December 2015. The company also confirmed it has entered into a consultation process with staff based at the office as it announces proposals regarding the future operating model of its contact centres, which includes the relocation of roles to other UK sites.

Under the merger, TUI Travel Shareholders (other than TUI AG and certain connected parties) will receive 0.399 New TUI AG Shares for each TUI Travel Share held by them at the scheme record time.

TUI Travel, the largest travel operator in Europe has reported a four per cent rise in revenue for the financial year ended September 30th, as more consumers opt for its package holidays.
